    Two O'Clock Pushing Three

Lyrics & Music by Bruce Blackman

    (Chorus)

Two o’clock pushing three o’clock and your baby’s not at home

Two o’clock pushing three o’clock and you’re sitting there all alone

Sometimes you feel like there’s a storm up in your brain

And your whole world came crashing down on you

And squeezed your soul so tight you can’t even bear the pain

Can you feel it, can you feel it, can you feel it?

Do you feel all alone…feel all alone

Feel all alone in the room

    When it’s 2 o’clock, pushing 3 o’clock

And your baby’s not at home

    (Organ Solo)

You better wake up ‘cause there’s something you gotta’ learn

That sometimes there won’t be anymore

Pain is the difference in what you want and what you have

And everybody, everybody’s been in that room

Where you feel all alone…feel all alone

Lost in the light of the moon

    When it’s 2 o’clock, pushing 3 o’clock

And it’s just you in that room

    (Chorus - Outro)

    The Big Hurt

Arranged by Bruce Blackman – Written by Wayne Shanklin

Now it begins, now that you’ve gone

Needles and pins twilight till dawn

Watching that clock till you return

Lighting that torch, watching it burn

Now it begins day after day

This is my night ticking away

Waiting to hear footsteps that say

Love will appear, this time to stay

The big hurt, The big hurt

    (Sax Solo)

Now it begins now that you’ve gone

Needles and pins twilight till dawn

Bit if you go come back again

I wonder when, when will it end

The big hurt, The big hurt

    (Sax Outro)

    My Baby

Lyrics & Music by Bruce Blackman

My baby, she a work of art

Like the middle of spring in Central Park

They could put her on the cover of a New York Magazine

And everybody in the world could see

I got a girl like that, call me lucky me

She my all day, all night and everything in between

And I’m walking on wheels when I think about her

    Cruising on a boulevard

I don’t care if we brass and glass of an evening

Or sit out in the yard

We could watch a blue moonlight on the ocean

    And fall asleep counting stars

    (Chorus)

My baby she my one alone

She the best my baby that I’ve ever known

She my baby, she a whole lotta’ baby, I love her

My baby she my one alone

She the best my baby that I’ve ever known

She my baby, she a whole lotta’ baby, I love her

My baby she a whole lotta’ baby, I love her

    (Bridge)

She my girl, oh yeah, my baby rocks my world

    She my girl tonight

She my girl, oh yeah, my baby rocks my world

    She my all night girl

My baby she a princess queen

Like a beautiful girl on a movie screen

I could never even dream I could ever stop thinking about her

She the best luck I ever had

You can call me a fool but I’m really glad

‘Cause I feel so good and everyday I feel a little bit better

And I’m walking on wheels when I think about her

    Cruising on a boulevard

I don’t care if we brass and glass of an evening

Or sit out in the yard

We could watch a blue moonlight on the ocean

    And fall asleep counting stars

    (Repeat Chorus)

    (Bridge – Outro)

Don't You Know How to Love a Lady

Lyrics & Music by Bruce Blackman

Been a long time since the feeling’s come your way

But I’ll be there babe to help you through the day

You say no when I know you mean yeah

But I know how it is with your fickle female way

You say, don’t you know how to do it boy?

Ain’t you learned the simplest rule yet boy?

Don’t you know how to love a lady?

Been a long time since your feelings feeling right

But I’ll be there babe to help you through the night

You say no I never let my macho go

Then you roll your eyes back and crinkle up your nose

And say, don’t you know how to do it boy?

Ain’t you learned the simplest rule yet boy?

Don’t you know how to love a lady?

    (Chorus)

Don’t you know how to love a lady?

Don’t you know how to love a lady?

You tell me that all I am is a belly full of beer

A pile of bones wrapped up in masculine veneer

But everwhat you need is what I’ll try to be

I’ll try to step outside and see inside of me

You say, don’t you know how to do it boy?

Ain’t you learned the simplest rule yet boy?

Don’t you know how to love a lady?

    (Chorus – Outro)

    Less Thinking, More Drinking

Lyrics & Music by Bruce Blackman

I lie in my bed and worry my head

‘Bout the trouble the world’s going through

I’ve been so distraught. I just had a thought

‘Bout what a cowboy can do

Less thinking, more drinking. Throw your troubles away

Today is better than tomorrow. Let’s drink it away

Trailer park princess at the barbecue she said come on cowboy, let’s dance

You gotta’ lighten up a little bit you gotta’ give a good time a chance

We spun around to a tune or two and then she whispered in my ear

Don’t you know that I’m a perfect girl I’m gonna’ show up naked with beer.

Less thinking, more drinking. Throw your troubles away

Today is better than tomorrow. Let’s drink it away

A knock you naked margarita mix it kinda’ got me in the groove

The only thing I’m feeling now is desire not to move

A post-it note stuck to my chest it said, “Fred, what an awesome night”

I got a Viking helmet on my head, it ain’t mine ‘cause it don’t fit me right

Less thinking, more drinking. Throw your troubles away

Today is better than tomorrow. Let’s drink it away

If you can lie on the floor without holding on,

You ain’t that drunk in the south

The only way you gonna’ get me up is to kick my ass and shout

Less thinking, more drinking. Throw your troubles away

Today is better than tomorrow. Let’s drink it away

If you can lie on the floor without holding on,

You ain’t that drunk in the south

    Jim's Cafe
Lyrics & Music by Bruce Blackman

I’m driving fast I’m coming home to see you, baby

Getting’ dizzy from those highway lines

I shoulda' known I couldn't live without you

Counting down miles by the highway signs

    (Chorus)

I’ll be cruisin’ in my ’64 Chevy

    Burning tires coming your way

Meet me down on the corner by the leve

    Down around Jim’s café

I need a rocket gotta’ get it going faster

Mash that gas pedal down to the floor

I can’t wait to wrap my arms around you, girl

I’m double down the speed limit on this road

    (Repeat Chorus)

    (Bridge)

I left Baton Rouge last night and didn’t even stop at Stuckey’s

I crossed that Miss-Sippi bridge pushing a hundred and five

I taped your picture on the dashboard like an angel smiling back at me

Wearing that yellow blouse you’re so beautiful even an old blind man could see

All I do is think about missing you

Drove all night trying to outrun the sun

Praying like a preacher that you’ll be there to meet me

I tried not to love you but it can’t be done

    (Repeat Chorus)

    (Outro)

Driving by in my ’64 Chevey

Right in front of Jim’s Cafe

There you are on the corner by the levee

This is my lucky day – Hallelujah

    Who's Gonna' Love You

Lyrics & Music by Bruce Blackman

Who's gonna' love you, baby, when no one else is calling

Who’s gonna’ need you when the night time is falling

Who’s gonna’ love you, who’s gonna’ love you like I do

Well, some boys promise diamonds, they’re begging for their chance

But you and me, baby put the romance back in dance

Who’s gonna’ love you, who’s gonna’ love you like I do

I could promise you the moon but darlin’ you’d be catching on soon

Don’t forget that I can give you loving on a silver spoon

Some boys driver Mercedes but me I drive a truck

But when you need lovin’ honey, I never pass the buck

Who’s gonna’ love you, who’s gonna’ love you like I do

I could promise you the moon but darlin’ you’d be catching on soon

Don’t forget that I can give you loving on a silver spoon

Who’s gonna’ tease you girl when you’re acting so aloof

Who’s gonna’ squeeze you, make your pulse go through the roof

Who’s gonna’ love you, who’s gonna’ love you like I do

Who’s gonna’ hold you, who’s gonna’ hold you like I do

Who’s gonna’ love you, who’s gonna’ love you like I do

    Moonlight Feels Right 2014

Lyrics & Music by Bruce Blackman

The wind blew some luck in my direction
I caught it in my hands today
I finally made a tricky French connection
You winked and gave me your ok
I'll take you on a trip beside the ocean
And drop the top at Chesapeake Bay
Ain't nothing like the sky to dose a potion
The moon'll send you on your way

    (Chorus)
    Moonlight feels right
    Moonlight feels right

We'll lay back and observe the constellations
And watch the moon smiling bright
I'll play the radio on southern stations
'Cause southern belles are hell at night
You say you came to Baltimore from Ole Miss
A class of '99 gold ring
The eastern moon looks ready for a wet kiss
To make the tide rise again

    (Repeat Chorus)

We'll see the sun come up on Sunday morning
And watch it fade the moon away
I guess you know I'm giving you a warning
'Cause me and moon are itching to play
I'll take you on a trip beside the ocean
And drop the top at Chesapeake Bay
Ain't nothing like the sky to dose a potion
The moon'll send you on your way

    (Repeat Chorus – Outro)

    Mystery School

Lyrics & Music by Bruce Blackman

I thought I knew women ‘till I met you

But there I made my main mistake

And if I had a brain I would forget you

I think you’re trying to make me break

But I could never stand it when you blink those eyes

I know you’d just as soon tell me all your lies

And every time I think that we're about to agree

You just smile and laugh at m

    (Chorus)

Why don’t you take me to your mystery school

Come on and take me to your mystery school

Every time I think I got you figured

Then you go and break my heart

You tell me that you want me to deliver

So when you gonna’ let me start

And I don’t understand it ‘cause I think you can see

By now you gotta’ know what you mean to me

And every time I ask you just to tell me what’s wrong

You say I shoulda’ known all along

    (Repeat Chorus)

You think you’re gonna’ keep yourself a secret

And keep it under lock and key

By now you ought to know that I’m a student

    I’m working on advanced degrees

So hurry up and tell me what you want me to do

‘Cause I’m tired of hanging out at your mystery school

You make me think I got it then you tell me I don’t

But now baby you know I want

    (Chorus – Outro)

For you to take me to your mystery school

Come on and take me to your mystery school

I’d like to go and see your mystery school

Come on and let me in your mystery school
